The League of Women Voters of the United States signed a statement of Principles for Transparency and Public Participation in Redistricting that was developed with the Brookings Institution, the American Enterprise Institute and members of good government groups. The document articulates transparency principles, the benefits of public participation in redistricting and promotes solutions to the barriers to public and community participation in creating redistricting plans.
