League of Women Voters of Ventura County (LWVVC), a
nonpartisan political organization, and the American Association of University
Women of Thousand Oaks, are co-sponsoring a candidates forum for candidates
running in the Special Municipal Vacancy Election on June 2nd to fill the
vacancy left by Jacqui Irwin’s resignation from the Thousand Oaks City Council.
Members of the public are invited to attend free of charge.
The forum will be held on Thursday, April 30, from 6:30 -
8:00 pm at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, City Council Chambers/Scherr
Forum, 2100 East Thousand Oaks Blvd, Thousand Oaks, 91362.
program will begin with a brief opening statement from each of the candidates
followed by a moderated session during which LWVVC member David Maron will
direct questions submitted by members of the audience to each of the
candidates. Candidates will be given time at the end of the program to make
LWVVC hosts candidates forums in order to assist the public in learning more
about individual candidates running for office. The LWVVC never endorses
candidates and always conducts its forums in a manner designed to be fair and
equitable to all who participate. Every candidate running for office is invited
forums are free and open to the public. They are televised on the local
government channel in the city where the forum takes place. The LWVVC does not
permit videotaping of its forums to ensure fairness to each candidate.
