Eden United Church of Christ, Padres Unidos de Cherryland, and the Cherryland Computer Cafe invite the public to a 2018 HUSD Board of Trustees Candidates Forum, Wed, Oct 17, from 6 to 8pm in Oliver Hall on the Eden Church campus. A free community dinner will be provided at 5:30pm. A formal panel moderated by our leaders will be the main feature of the evening.
 Voter registration forms & online registration will be offered in 10 languages.

Come reflect on our immigration policies today through the lens of the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, which banned Chinese nationals from coming to the US and prevented Chinese nationals already here from becoming citizens.  The Act remained law for 60 years.  Food truck at 5:30, film at 7pm.

The Mental Health Services Act Annual Update has been posted. The Public Hearing is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. on October 17, 2018. Once again, the League of Women Voters of Sacramento County will have a table at the Sacramento Take Back the Night Rally and March in Sacramento October 13th. We will be handing out voter information, registering voters, and distributing our November ballot recommendations to rally attendees. The hours for the table are 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the corner of 20th and J Streets in midtown.

The march begins at 8:30 p.m. through the streets of Sacramento.

Can you help between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m.? 

If you can help for an hour or more, contact me.
