Our League of Women Voters Benicia (soon-to-be League of Women Voters of Solano County!) fall events include:
Night Out on the Rocky Hill Trail: Sept. 25, our league will have a table for voter registration and member recruitment at Night Out on the Rocky Hill Trail, from 5-7 pm at the intersection of Markham & Rocky Hill Rd. in Vacaville.
High School Registration: Starting in September, trained League members and volunteers will be visiting Solano high school senior classes to register students who will be 18 in time to vote in 2020.
Voter Registration Training Events and Meetings are also planned. The next training event is on November 6 at 7 pm at Solano Community College, co-sponsored by the Solano College Student Life Office.
Mock Elections: The League will also assist at the Solano County Registrar of Voters' county-wide mock elections to introduce the public to the new voting machines on October 16, at polling places in 7 incorporated cities from 10 am to 2 pm. Any member of the public can cast a ballot and try out the new Hart Inter-Civic voting system.
Preparing for the March Primary: California's new early primary will be held on March 3, 2020, and the League is planning a number of events for the rest of 2019 and for 2020. The League plans to accelerate its efforts to register Solano County residents, and League research results on both local and statewide races and issues will be available at League websites like www.vote411.org/ and Votersedge.org as the votes near.
